EMDR Informed Coaching for Visibility
Using EMDR informed coaching to allow you to be seen and show up in the world as your authentic self, whilst feeling safe.
Here’s what no-one told you when you decided to do your career:
The most successful people in any career often had to overcome the fear of being visible.
Your anxiety about being seen isn’t just anxiety - it’s a fear of visibility and being truly seen.
That "stage fright" before going live? It's not about forgetting your lines - it's terror of being judged.
That "social media block" keeping you inconsistent? It's not about content strategy - it's fear of criticism.
That "camera anxiety" during interviews? It's about feeling safe to be authentic.
The truth is: Every visibility breakthrough requires healing your relationship with being seen.
Do you find yourself…
Feeling like a fraud every time you step into the spotlight, despite your talent and achievements?
Replaying every interview, social media post, or public appearance obsessively, searching for signs of judgment or criticism?
Struggling with self-doubt before cameras, stages, or any moment when all eyes are on you?
Caught in cycles of perfectionism and procrastination?
Unable to trust your own instincts or authentic voice when it's time to be seen?
Experiencing panic attacks or physical symptoms before live streams, interviews, auditions, or networking events?
Finding that past experiences of public humiliation, harsh criticism, or industry rejection continue to impact how boldly you show up?
Paralysed by fear of being "canceled," judged, or attacked online, keeping you playing small when your career demands visibility?
Feeling exhausted by the constant performance of being "on" and losing touch with who you really are?
If these experiences resonate, you're not dealing with simple "confidence issues" - you might be experiencing visibility fear that lives in your nervous system and shapes how safe you feel being seen by the world.
You can have the best publicist, the best script, perfect content, and undeniable talent - but if your nervous system is wired to interpret mass attention as danger, your visibility will always feel like survival.
The performers, entrepreneurs, and public figures who thrive in the spotlight aren't necessarily more confident - they've processed the social wounds that make visibility feel threatening and are able to be authentically themselves.
I believe in standard coaching - talking, strategising, problem-solving & use this where appropriate.
But we can talk all day about your visibility fears and you'll still be stuck. You already know logically that you should post more, network boldly, or put yourself out there - but emotionally you're not there.
EMDR gets to what really matters: the stored experiences in your nervous system that are actually running the show.
Because visibility trauma doesn't live in your thinking mind - it lives in your body.
How EMDR-informed visibility coaching helps performers, entrepreneurs, and public figures:
Process and heal public humiliation, industry rejection, or performance trauma that's blocking your potential
Build true confidence that you can FEEL when all eyes are on you - not dependent on likes, reviews, or audience approval
Feel safe in expressing your authentic self, developing a magnetic presence
Create genuine stage presence and magnetic visibility that feels natural, not performative
Move through fear of judgment, criticism, and being "canceled" to share your authentic voice whilst feeling emotionally safe
Develop nervous system resilience for handling public scrutiny, social media backlash, and industry pressure
Reclaim your authentic self from the exhausting performance of being "on" all the time

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a powerful therapy technique originally developed for trauma that uses bilateral stimulation (like guided eye movements) to help your brain process stuck emotions and memories. It’s got a wide evidence base and is used in the NHS.
EMDR coaching takes these same principles and applies them to visibility challenges.
Instead of just talking about why you freeze up in interviews or avoid new opportunities, we actually process the underlying blocks that created those responses.
Here's what makes it different:
Traditional coaching: "Let's strategise how to overcome your fear of visibility."
EMDR coaching: "Let's process and release the stored fear so visibility feels natural."
In practice, it looks like:
Identifying the specific memories or beliefs blocking your professional growth
Using bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, or audio tones) while processing these experiences
Watching your nervous system calm down and your confidence naturally emerge
Installing new, empowering beliefs about your professional worth
The result? Instead of managing your triggers with coping strategies, you actually resolve them.
You may find other coaches don’t offer this. This is because generally EMDR can only be offered by qualified therapists.
-
We start by talking - identifying what professional challenge is bothering you most.
Then we trace it back. What does this feeling remind you of? Often there's a specific memory - being criticised by a teacher, a humiliating work presentation, or even childhood experiences of feeling "not good enough." You may not know now, and that’s ok.
Here's where EMDR gets interesting: While you think about that memory, I'll guide you through bilateral stimulation.
It sounds weird, but it works. The eye movements help your brain process the stuck emotion attached to that memory. You might notice the memory becoming less vivid, the emotional charge decreasing, or new insights emerging naturally.
We keep going until that memory no longer triggers you. Then we install a new, empowering belief like "I am capable and worthy of success."
The whole thing takes 60-90 minutes. You'll likely feel lighter, calmer, and notice that professional trigger doesn't hit the same way anymore.
Best part? You don't have to relive trauma, event, or dig into painful details. Your brain does the healing work - I just facilitate the process.
Most clients are surprised how gentle and natural it feels, even when processing difficult experiences.
